[Opinion] – Why Apple won’t change [much] under Tim Cook regime

Since Jobs’ resignation a few days ago, many people (just look at Twitter) have been freaking out.  There was talk of how Apple would lose its edge in technology.  Some pessimists have went as far as to say this was “the demise of Apple”.  However, all of this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Steve’s resignation wasn’t an “I quit” as much as it was an “I’m going to let someone else take the helm.”  He will serve as Chairman of the Board and as an Apple employee.  I am very confident that he will still be a huge part of the development and evolution of Apple products.  Heck, we may still get the privilege of seeing “SteveNote” every now and then.

As for the new man in charge, Tim Cook, I think he is more than capable of running Apple.  In his 13 years with Apple, he has served the company well.  He has been acting CEO on a few occasions with nothing negative to mention. He sent an email to all Apple employees yesterday stating that “Apple is not going to change.”  I believe that he has an amazing team behind him and we will see nothing but a bright, dominant future for Apple Inc.
