Windows Phone 7.5 Mango update now rolling out


WinRumors is reporting that Microsoft has begun to roll out the Windows Phone 7.5 “Mango” update to its existing Windows Phone 7 devices. There are over 500 new features, some of which are outlined below. Most devices on various carriers should already be seeing the update, but Microsoft says that all devices should see the update by the end of October. Some of the newer phones should already have Windows Phone 7.5 installed, which are also listed below.

Some newer Windows Phone devices that will automatically have 7.5 pre-installed:

  • Acer W4
  • HTC Radar
  • HTC Titan
  • Nokia Sea Ray
  • Samsung Focus S
  • Samsung Focus Flash
  • Samsung Omnia W
  • ZTE Tania

Some of the new features in Mango include:

  • Multitasking
  • Hardware-accelerated browsing via Internet Explorer 9
  • HTML5 support
  • Bing Scout, Bing Vision, Bing Audio
  • WLM/Facebook chat integration
  • Threaded messages
  • Twtter and LinkedIn support in the People Hub
  • Windows Live SkyDrive and Office 365 support in the Office Hub
  • Vast improvements to Mail
  • Many new improvements to the Xbox LIVE Gaming Hub
