As noted by MacRumors, Chinese forum WeiPhone.com has posted a list of links to various iOS 6 and Safari 6 downloads that are located on Apple’s developer center servers. While the links aren’t active, even for registered developers, this is a sure sign that the first iOS 6 beta will most likely be available tomorrow afternoon. With that being said, the file sizes are currently unknown. The build number is 10a5316k. You’ll find an organized list of the downloads down below, and they’re expected to be active shortly after the keynote has ended.
The downloads come in a usual DMG or ZIP package, with the IPSW within. The files will most likely be uploaded to third-party servers for all to use, assuming their UDID has been activated or that their copy of the iOS 6 beta has been jailbroken with the “beta” line removed.
As mentioned above, all of those links, if genuine, should be available to everyone who has a registered iOS development account with Apple. If you don’t, then getting your UDID activated by someone will also work.
What’s most interesting about the leaked links is the absence of links for the first-generation iPad. Will Apple be killing it? Possibly. You might then be asking yourself why Apple will offer iOS 6 for the 3GS. It’s still being sold. Sales for the first-generation iPad seemed to have slowed way down, thanks to the cheaper iPad 2 and even more so with the refurbished version. The iPad 1 has just 256MB of RAM, which honestly isn’t enough for it to run multiple apps reliably. But the iPhone 3GS also has 256MB of RAM! True, but the larger resolution screen eats more of that up, as more information is actually shown on the display at once, thus eating up more memory, all of which explains the overall slow performance on the iPad 1, especially when leaving multiple apps in the background. // end long sentence
Lastly, it looks as though the iPod touch 3G has been killed.
