As simple as back covers get. They’re cheap, and come with screen protectors. Courtesy of Proporta comes their Hard Shells for the iPhone 5. These are absolute basic and simple snap-on back covers for the iPhone 5. Prices are good at £14.95/$19.95, and you get a few color options to choose from.

Always appreciated with cases are screen protectors. A lot of companies neglect to include them, sadly, so it’s great to see Proporta including an ultra-clear one with this case. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to test them, as I’m a bit of an anti-glare fanboy.

The cases themselves have a soft-touch/satin coating to them, so this greatly reduces the amount of fingerprints and scratches while increasing the amount of grip. The only type of branding you’ll find comes on the inside of the case, near the bottom.

As with most back covers, there’s no lay-on-the-table design. The top, bottom, and left-side area of the iPhone 5 are all exposed. There’s a small pill-shaped cutout for the camera on the back.

Honestly, there’s isn’t much else to mention about this case. They’re incredibly simple and have minimalists in mind. So, if you want something incredibly simple just to protect the back and sides of your device, this is a nice way to go.
