[Review] iLuv Regatta for iPhone 5 [Video]

Dual-layers of protection for a great price. These types of cases are very popular, as they give you plenty of protection in what’s typically a nice looking case, which is the case with the Regatta by iLuv. It’s priced at $16.33 on Amazon and, for whatever reason, I can’t find this case on iLuv’s own website. If white/pinkish-red isn’t your thing, then black/grey and blue/light-blue versions are available.

For your money, don’t expect any extras, so no screen protectors or even a microfiber cloth for cleaning your iPhone’s display. Instead, you just get the case itself, which isn’t bad considering the quality of the case as well as its price.

The main body of the case is made of a glossy polycarbonate material. Because of this, expect fingerprints and scratches to be easily visible. The inside of the Regatta is TPU, which comes up and over the display just a little bit, which gives you a slight lay-on-the-table design.

In terms of cutouts and button covers, the two volume nubs on the left side of the case reduce the feedback just a bit. The power button nub is similar to what you would get when pressing the power button without a case at all. The silent switch cutout is nicely sized. The bottom of your phone is completely exposed, so you don’t have to worry about the cutouts getting in the way of your cables. Lastly, on the back of the case, there’s a properly sized cutout for the rear-facing camera. Said cutout also has a black outline to reduce issues with the LED flash.

Overall, this is a nice case, especially at $16.33. I just wish that they could’ve extended the TPU material towards the bottom edge of the phone to help get that area protected. Nevertheless, this is a great case for the money, and you can’t go wrong with picking one up.
