Update (11/11/2012): The winner declined the prize, so it’s going to the next person in the list, as shown at the bottom of this post.
Update (11/9/2012): The giveaway is now over! You’ll find the winner at the bottom of the page, as well as the list of where people placed!
Time for a giveaway! We were planning on holding this prior to the launch of Windows 8 a few Fridays ago, but had some issues obtaining our key for our copy of Windows 8 Professional. The giveaway is easy to enter, and you can enter multiple times! You’ll find all of the details below, but the giveaway is easy to enter, and you’ll have multiple chances of winning!
How to enter…
Entering this giveaway is very simple, and can be done in a few different ways.
The easiest way is to just leave a comment in the below comments area. Your actual comment could be about anything you’d like.
You can also enter via Twitter. You just need to tweet out the following tweet:
I’ve entered @thetecherra & @besweeet’s Windows 8 Pro giveaway! Details here: http://is.gd/oXP104
You can enter via either method once per day ’till Friday. So, in total, you have 8 potential entries waiting for you. Specifically for the Twitter method, you must be following @thetecherra on Twitter to be eligible. Yes, we will check to see if you are doing so. Following @besweeet isn’t required, but you can if you’d like!
Picking the Winner
The giveaway will end this Friday morning, and the winner will be announced at the top of this post, as well as on our Twitter account.
All who enter via comments and Twitter will be kept track in a list, then randomized, with whoever coming out at the top of the list being the winner. We will contact the winner directly, and if he/she doesn’t respond within 24 hours, the next person on the list will be selected.
The winner will receive their key for Windows 8 Professional (32-bit; yes, it’s only 32-bit, but it’s still compatible with up to 4GB of RAM, which is perfect for virtual machines or those who actually have 4GB of RAM or less), and the file that will be used to download their .ISO image.
That’s all!
